National Cadet Corps – A
Report
Delhi Division, 7 Andhra Naval Unit Ncc, Ncc Directorate, A.P.
An exercise was undertaken by the Ministry of Defence to make the ‘Aims of
the NCC’ in tune with the aspirations of the youth in view of changing
socio-economic environment. The aims of NCC are
(a) Development of leadership, character, comradeship, spirit of
sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service.
(b) To create a force of disciplined and trained manpower which in a
national emergency could be of assistance to the country
The NCC activities can be broadly divided into four distinct parts namely
Institutional Training, Community Development, Youth Exchange Programme and
Adventure Training.
Achievements At Svkp And Dr Ksraju Arts Science College, Penugonda
NCC Division of 7 Andhra Naval Unit NCC established in the year 1985 at this
college with the strength of 50 Cadets.
Associate NCC Officers from colleges who are the teachers from colleges who
form a very important part in the conduct of the training and allied
activities in relation to the students enrolled as cadets from their
respective institutions.
Lt Cdr (Ncc) K.S.R.Prasaad Rao:
LT CDR (NCC) K.S.R.PRASADA RAO, NCCN\11292 is working as Associate NCC
Officer for this Division since 15th June 1986.
He was commissioned in National Cadet Corps works under the Ministry of
Defence, Government of India on 15th June 1986 as per Deputy Director
General NCC, Andhra Pradesh, letter no NCC (AP) \317\2\PERS (3) dated 24
April 1987 and congratulated by Col. Deepak Chadha, Group Commander,
Kakinada Group by letter dated 05 May 1987. Promoted as Lieutenant Commander
in NCC on 15th June 2001 as per letter from NCC Directorate, AP. On 19th
September 2001.
Qualified in Civil Defence Management Course in National Civil Defence
College, Nagapur , Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in the year
1999.
Selected as a Best NCC Officer at Kakinada Group level in the years 2003,
2004, and 2005 for his sincere and dedicated efforts in training the Naval
cadets has brought many laurels to NCC Cadets.
Deputed as Contingent Commander for Andhra Pradesh Naval team for
prestigious All India Nausainik Camp, Visakhapatnam in the year 2004 and A.P
team received Republic Day Banner Trophy.
Training Officer for Launching Camp for Nausainik and Contingent Commander
for Andhra Pradesh Naval team for ALL INDIA NAUSAINIK CAMP in the year 2005
deputed by NCC Directorate, Andhra Pradesh and A.P. team received
prestigious OVERALL BEST DIRECTORATE TROPHY.
Lt Cdr Prasaad attended as Contingent Commander for National Integration
Camp at KORBA from 20 December to 31 December 1993 and secured third prize
in kit line layout competition.
Extension Activities:
Nominated as Executive Council Member and Advisory Committee Member in
Bombay Science and Research Education Institute (certified by Indian
Register of Quality system, Govt. of India and Glasgow of Commerce, United
Kingdom) since December 2004.
Rotary Secretary for Penugonda Rotary Club in the year 1994 and conducted
many community development services for public and youth and received many
awards from District Rotary Governor.
Achievements Of The Cadets:
Institutional Training: The institutional training covers basic military
training. The NCC cadets of this college are getting training in drill,
shooting, physical fitness, first aid, boat pulling, sailing, and camp
training form part of Institutional Training. Camp training constitutes the
most vital part of the NCC training. In camps, young cadets get the thrill
and joy of outdoor and community living. Besides, ALL India camps get the
thrill and joy of outdoor and community living, Besides, all India camps
such as National Integration, Nau Sainik, Naval attachment, Republic day
camp and Independence Day Camps in which cadets from all parts of the
country work together contribute greatly towards promoting national
integration. The camp training gives these young boys thrill and joy of
outdoor life and also assists in developing camaraderie, team work, group
cohesion, qualities of character and leadership. Self confidence and self
reliance.
Youth Exchange Programme Camp (Yep):
With a view to increase International understanding and heighten awareness,
the NCC has youth exchange programmes with nine countries.
Cadet N. Ramachandra Raju was selected in prestigious Youth Exchange
Programme Camp in the year 2004 and he visited Srilanka and Male by Overseas
Deployment Coast Guard Ships from 8th March to 30 March 2005.
Republic Day Camp (RDC)
The Camp is held every year in the month of January from 01 Jan to 29 Jan at
Garrison Parade Ground. During the camp, the cadets participate in the
Republic Day Parade and the Prime Ministers’ Rally. They also participate in
various Inter – Directorate competitions. The cadets are bringing a sense of
National Integration amongst the youth of our country. The camp finally
concludes on 28 January with tea with the Prime Minister and later an ‘at
home’ hosted by the President.
Totally Twenty Cadets Are Participated From This College Since 1986 For
Prestigious All Aindia Republic Day Camp At New Delhi.
Profile of the cadets : One Cadet in the year 1986, 3 Cadets in 1988, 2
Cadets in 1990, one cadet in 1997, one Cadet in 1999, 2 cadets in 2000, 4
cadets in 2001, 2 cadets in 2002, 2 cadets in 2003, one cadet in 2004 and
one cadet in 2005.
Two Cadets are selected for Pre RDC –III Camp at Secunderabad in the present
year-2005 and final selection to be conducted in the month of December, 2005
for RDC to be conducted in the January 2006 at New Delhi
All India Nau Sainik Camp:
This Directorate has been entrusted to conduct All India Nau Sainik Camp
every year at Visakhapatnam; previously it was conducted at Cochin. Cadets
from all over India have attended this prestigious camp as per the orders of
DG NCC.
This Camp is prestigious to Naval Cadets in NCC. Four Cadets in 2004 and
three Cadets in 2005 were selected to this camp and they are participated in
different competitions in all India level in boat pulling, sailing, firing,
ship modeling, line area under Republic Day Banner and semaphore, drill,
cultural activities under non Republic Day banner, in addition to that best
cadet selection at Ship Wright School, Visakhapatnam.. The Cadets comes from
16 Directorates in all over India.
Some of the cadets are participating in State Republic Day and Independence
Day camps
Since 2002.
Col RY Tugnait, Group Commander, Kakinada Group appreciated the cadets of
this ollege for their first position in boat pulling event in the Inter
Group Competitions held at ecunderabad from 11th to 26th July 1988. Eight
Cadets of this college were participated in this competition and received
boat pulling trophy.. He also congratulated their hard work and tenacious
efforts.
The Cadets of this College participated in All India Nausainik Camp in
Cochin in the year 1989 and secured forth position in boat pulling
Sailing Expedition:
Eight Cadets of this division were participated in Whaler Boat Pulling at
sea from visakhapatnam to kainada from 05.05,2003 to 14.05.2003 and received
CMS Scholarships and received cash prize for Rs.500\- per each.
The Cadets attended other National Camps like Officers Attachment Training
with Navy establishment at Goa in the year 2003.
Adventure Camps:
Adventure activities are organized to develop special qualities of courage,
leadership, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship, spirit of camaraderie, team
work and self confidence among the cadets.
This division cadet attended Scuba Diving in the year 2003 at Visakhapatnam.
Three Cadets are selected for Trekking Camp at Bihar from 24 Nov to 14 Dec
2005, Ship attachment Camp at Visakhapatnam and Cochin in the year 2004 &
2005, attended National Integration Camps conducting in different places
throughout India, recently one cadet attended NIC at Belpahar, Orissa from
08 oct to 19th October 2005.
Community Development:
The purpose of organizing these activities is to make our young people
conscious and sensitive to the needs and problems of their fellow countrymen
as also to contribute meaningfully to enriching the community life.
These division NCC cadets during the past 19 years have donated blood in
blood donation camps conducted at this college. They also participated in
various social services activities like tree plantation, adult education,
eye donation pledge, anti-leprosy drive, anti-dowry pledge etc, during
camps.
‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificates
The Cadets of this division attending certificate exams since 1986 and
obtaining B & C Certificates with A and B Grade since 1986 onwards.
Catc Camp At This College
Group CATC Camp was conducted in this college in the year January 1987 under
the leaderships of Group Commander COL Bindra and 450 Cadets of Army, Navy
and Air Wing senior Division Cadets are attended.
This division is prestigious not only to the NCC Group level but also at NCC
DIRECTORAGTE, A.P level and many Officials visited this division and they
have written their valuable comments in the Visitors Book since 1986.
Lt Col N R K Rao, Commanding Officer stated in his official letter dated 10
March 2000 that thank to Prasaad for his willing co-operation in achieving
the objectives of this unit as well as his hard work, perseverance,
dedication and sincerity of purpose have contributed towards the better
performance of the unit to a large extent. It is wonderful to know him and
to work with him. He always cherishes the sweet memories of Prasaad
association.
Col P. ISAAC, Group Commander, Kakinda Group NCC stated in his official
letter dated 29 March 2002 that it has been brought to my notice that as ANO
OF NCC Navy Division at Penugonda , Prasaad have performed exceedingly will.
Participation of four cadets in RDC 2001 Delhi, out of 50 cadets from his
division is by no means a small achievement. This goes to prove his total
commitment, high standard of training and leading by example which have been
clearly evinced in the final out come.

National Cadet Corps

At
S.V.K.P And Dr K.S. Raju Arts And Science College, Penugonda For Present 3
Years.
NCC is the necessary future Golden Threshold for young citizens of our
country. It is playing an important role in shaping the character of our
youth by installing the values of patriotism, courage, discipline, hard work
and selfless service.
NCC division of 7 Andhra Naval Unit established in the year 1985 at this
college with the strength of 50 cadets. The institution feels high
prestigious that cadets showing excellent performance in naval activities
since 1986 and this division is one of the best division’s at State level.
Ex Cadet N. Ramachandra Raju was selected for Youth Exchange Programme Camp
in the year 2004 and he visited the countries of Srilanka and Male on
Overseas Deployment Coast Guard Ships during 8-3-2005 to 30.3.2005.
Cadets D. Kishore Kumar , N. Ramachandra Raju, and P. Naga Raju in the years
2003, 2004, 2005 were selected and participated at the Republic Day Parade
Camp and Prime Minister’s Rally.
20 cadets participated from this college for Republic Day Parade camp since
1986. This camp is being conducted every year during 1st January to 29th
January at Garrison Parade Grounds, New Delhi and finally the camp is
concluded with tea with Honorable Prime Minister of India. And latter, ‘at
home’ hosted by the Honorable President of India.
Cadets P. Anjaneyulu, T. Venkata Nagaraju, T. Pradeep Kumar Reedy, B.
Damodhara Rao in the year 2004, M. Wilson Babu, Ch. Radhakrishna Murthy and
M.Raghuram in the year 2005 participated at prestigious ALL IANDIA NAU
SAINIK CAMP conducted at Naval Ship Wright School, Visakhapatnam.
The cadets have been attending to adventure camps like Scuba Diving,
Trekking, Sailing expeditions and National Integration Camps, State Republic
Day and Independence Day camps and also participating Community Development
programmes since 1986.
College feels magnificent that Lieutenant Commander (NCC) K.S.R.PRASADA RAO,
NCCN\11292, Associate NCC Officer was deputed as Contingent Commander by
ANDHRA PRADESH NCC DIRECTORATE for A.P. Naval team for prestigious ALL INDIA
NAUSAINIK CAMP in the year’s 2004 & 2005. And A.P. Naval Team received
REPUBLIC DAY BANNER TROPHY in the year 2004 and OVERALL BEST DIRECTORATE
TROPHY in the year 2005.
